Inside Distille Sorrow

“Tomorrow’s wings had left
For now, joy and glory would not meet
She herself was at the whim of the graces
Asunder, cast between earth and heaven.”

The purity of sorrow — a heart’s rending

Nicole Rose had always been aware of her innate sense of profound ancestral sorrow. It spoke to her with reverent guidance and opened her heart to listening. Then she entered another state of being during the life event of losing her husband in tragic circumstance. She was left a widow with two young children. Her emotions were ruled by a depth of sorrow that she had never felt before. The deepest distress borne by loss, disappointment and misfortune. Her own, her children’s and what had been lost to them. There were no words of farewell — and little comfort for this abiding grief.

This queen of flowers. The beauty of the rose. The pain of the thorns.

Sorrow’s expression came to her in the form of the rose.
She would pay tribute to her husband this way. With profound love and strength she brought her husband home before his funeral ceremony. She anointed him with a lotion of rose oil and gold. Distilled rose oil aided and comforted her and her children during the first agonised time of losing the one closest to them.

O treasure creation – time’s spiritual finding

Nicole Rose became compelled to create. She asked, what can we do with our grief, this unyielding emotion? Where can we go to heal and how can we acknowledge it? Distille Sorrow unfolded from her reflections upon the rose. The essence of its imagery and meaning provided care to her during her loss and mourning. She wanted to share this tranquil place with others from all faiths.

She worked upon developing the compassionate and nurturing properties of the distilled rose oil character. She wished that this beautiful oil and gift she had now crafted existed for her and her children when they experienced intense grief and sorrow. The concept in its realised form is now a loving treasure for them and others. The gentle colour of pink and the peace of opening the product as if a rose were blooming.

“May Distille Sorrow give you comfort in times of grief, loss and sorrow.
Whatever your loss may be”
